8AM Workshop - The Modern Maximo Hub: From Classic Start Centers to Operational Dashboards - Presented by Bennet Tan, Cohesive.

**Bring your laptop for this 3.5 hour hands-on learning workshop. Breakfast and refreshments are provided.

How can you provide your users with a central hub that is both powerful and easy to use? This session explores the evolution of the Maximo user experience, from the classic Start Center to the new operational dashboards.

We will begin by laying the groundwork with a guide to traditional Start Center configuration. You will learn how to create dynamic Result Sets from saved queries, display key metrics with KPI graphs, and add convenient shortcuts with the Quick Insert and Favorite Applications portlets. We'll then cover the administration side, explaining how Start Center templates are managed and assigned to security groups to deploy a consistent experience for your users.

Next, we will dive into the future of the Maximo UI with the new operational dashboards. We’ll explore how this modern tool can be used to create visually rich, interactive, and consolidated views of your operational data. Following the design, we'll review how to manage and secure these new dashboards to ensure the right information gets to the right people. By comparing the capabilities of both, this session will empower you to choose the best tool for your users' needs. You'll leave ready to design, deploy, and manage a complete, personalized hub that drives user adoption and streamlines daily work.

12PM Workshop - Writing Custom Reports in IBM Maximo Using BIRT Designer - Presented by Nxt Era Solutions

**Bring your laptop for this 4 hour hands-on learning workshop. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

This four-hour hands-on training session is designed for Maximo administrators and developers who want to take control of their reporting by building and customizing reports directly in BIRT Designer. Attendees will leave with practical, immediately applicable skills for the full report development lifecycle, from installation through deployment.

The session begins with a quick-start installation of BIRT Designer 4.8, followed by an exploration of the core skills needed to modify existing Maximo reports, including editing open and fetch functions and working with report parameters.  The session then advances to building reports from scratch: defining datasets, constructing open and fetch functions, laying out tables and columns, and applying grouping and aggregation logic.  The session closes with the end to end prodess of importing reports into Maximo, configuring parameters, setting up security, and enabling direct print and toolbar access.

Prerequisites: Attendees should be comfortable writing SQL queries, familiar with Mazimo schema, and have a working knowledge of Maximo administration concepts such as Security Groups.  Access to a Maximo environment (deveolpment or equivalent) to export a samle report from would be beneficial for attendees.

By the end of theis session, attendees will be equipped to independently create, modify, and deploy custom BIRT reports within their Maximo environment.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Toronto CanMUG 2026!
